Nina Fernando
Nina received her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2025, following a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from York University. She also completed the Alberta Courts Paralegal Program, gaining early experience with family law, court procedures and courtroom administration.
Nina has experience in family law matters involving parenting, guardianship, child and spousal support, property division and relocation. She prepares pleadings, affidavits, separation agreements and mediation materials, and assists with trial preparation.
Her broader litigation experience has strengthened her legal research, evidence assessment and strategic preparation skills. She has appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice and Court of King’s Bench and supported clients through negotiation, mediation and litigation.
Before becoming a lawyer, Nina worked within Alberta’s court system as a Senior Judicial Clerk and Document Control Clerk, developing a strong understanding of court procedures and preparation. Nina is committed to helping clients understand their options and providing thoughtful, well-researched legal guidance.
